Winter Tether Swimming in Salt Water Pool
Started adding swimming into my overall physical fitness routine.
These days, you will find me running barefoot and with FFs, doing Tai Chi, progressing with Yoga, and swimming. I am feeling very fit. Some diet changes include further reduction in animal products (not a vegan...yet), more whole grains and vegetables, daily Green Foods Green Magma drink, less beer.
The results. Feeling much stronger and getting leaner and lighter. Could be good.
Upcoming races include:
Saturday's 9 Trails race in Santa Barbara.
Orange Curtain 100km in February 2008 (Spartathlon qualifier)
Copper Canyon Ultra Marathon in March 2008
All this activity leading to:
IronMan 1890 (2008)
Badwater Solo Attempt 2008
Spartathlon 2009
Catalina to Mt. Wilson 2012

Very good, Ted. I will pick up swimming as well. My foot is injured, hoped it was tendonitis, but it really looks like a fractured bone after all - so no running for me, the next 8 or so weeks. I'll be in the swimming pool as well!
Do you do cycling as well? Road or mountain? It's a great cross training for running.

I would like to hear more of these diet changes. I cut out beer and also Diet Soda. Now for the hard stuff.

Hi Ted,
If you are serious about the Spartathlon in 2009, it would be great to support you. I don't know what crewing involves, but I am reasonably fit and can run marathon distances barefoot.
A nice excuse for me to visit Greece.

Thanks for the comments:
Pieter, I do ride my highwheel bicycle.
Yanni, pacing is not allowed at the Spartathlon. Crewing entails meeting runners at various checkpoints along the course and providing them with extra nutrition and helping with needs.
I am not doing any planning for that yet, but thank you very much for the offer.

Hi Ted,
You're looking great!
Love your 2008 plans, especially the solo Badwater. But why not try for the official race? You're not gonna run BF are you??
I'm still deciding on the Spartathlon too, though leaning towards doing it this year.
Hope you had a happy new year!

Howdy Lisa
Great to hear from you and congrats on your recent ATY run.
No, I am not going to do Badwater barefoot, at least it is not my plan.
Crew barefoot, sure, run, doubt it.
As far as the Spartathlon goes, you know as well as I do, that IS the race to do.
