NativeSeeds.org & Club Mas Loco

The mission of Native Seeds/SEARCH is to conserve, distribute, and document the adapted and diverse varieties of agricultural seeds, their wild relatives and the role these seeds play in cultures of the American Southwest and Northwest Mexico.

Micah True's (Caballo Blanco' s) Club Mas Loco is working with Native Seeds to help support the Tarahumara' s way of life.

A letter from Suzanne Nelson to Club Mas Loco Members:

Hey Ted,

A quick update......the 'official' name for this project (internal to NS/S at any rate) is now the Batopilas Canyon Seed Project. You can use this to earmark checks for growing seeds for the Tarahumara that will be distributed via Micah's efforts. Our bookkeeper will recognize anything with Mas Loco or other such title, but just wanted to let you know how to tell your friends to earmark their checks.

Thanks again for your interest and help in getting the seeds back to Tarahumara communities.
Suzanne

An important message from an important supporter of Caballo's work writes:

Caballo,

I strongly endorse NSS and the idea of a seed farm. I love the whole idea as it directly accomplishes the goal of sustainable agriculture. Having the Mas Locos behind it is fabulous and providing them avenues for contribution is important. I agree with your healthy skepticism of most not for profits, but I have faith and trust in NSS. I was first directed to NSS by Jack Loeffler who has long trusted relationships with people at NSS, and I trust Jack explicitly. They are uniquely positioned to make things happen.

I can send some funds earlier than normal to help get the seed farm going now, but you are right,…the more money we all can collectively raise the more we will have for both the farm as well as the race. I am very indifferent as to where my contributions end as long as they go to the ultimate cause. If I need to contribute more I will as this is very important to me.

If you get anywhere near Albuquerque soon please let me know. I will be in El Paso this Thursday on business in case you come through there as well.

You are doing great things. I am so very happy to be associated with the Mas Locos.

Zoro
