1906 Running Shoe Design

From the description, the construction is such that it "gives to the shoe a fit like a glove or stocking." "The construction of the shoe is also such that there will be no seams on the inside which will rub or chafe the foot."
They knew a lot in 1906. The most important lesson: less = more.

Makes you wonder why nobody is capitalizing on an idea like that today...it's damn near impossible to find a shoe that even resembles a foot shape anymore.

I believe that the future of shoes will be shoes made specifically for each person, i.e., custom shoes.
When will that day come? Well, it is here now for some, but the future of manufacturing is going to be high-tech. Machines that can make anything, one-at-a-time, inexpensively.
Also, it might be nice to have a SPRAY-ON or DIP-ON shoe that you wash off at the end of the day. That would be cool.
